Over the past 4 months, spot gold prices had fallen from a high of around the US$950 level to a low of just above US$700. Gold is bouncing back. According to the World Gold Council, which has released its last statistics recently, the demand has surged on the third quarter: from the jewellery industry first, but also from investors through certificates and ETF’s.

Aluminium prices have been strongly impacted by the decline of the global demand, whereas the offer was increasing significantly due to the massive investments realised these past years in production capacity.
