Is it time to look at borrowing to invest?

The first 6 months of 2008 have provided some “interesting times” for “margin loaners”. The sharp fall in the Australian share market through the first quarter and now again in June has led to surges in margin calls by lenders. However, Australian shares are historically cheap at current levels. This blog looks at whether it is time to look at borrowing to invest.
2007-08 Expert forecasters do worse than chance

The end of the 2007-08 provides the opportunity to look back at forecasts and stock picks made at the beginning of that financial year. Yet again, the experts have done worse than pure chance and in doing so put into question the wisdom of taking an active, stock picking approach to investing.
